Harburg Port Festival

Harburg Port Festival

Every year Hamburg’s Harburg district attracts thousands of visitors south of the Elbe river with the Harburger Binnenhafenfest (lit. ‘Harburg Inland-Port Festival’). A large maritime programme with lots of music, handicrafts, refreshments and of course plenty of stately ships are annual highlights.

The non-profit associations KulturWerkstatt Harburg (KWH), Harburger Turnerbund (HTB) and Museumshafen Harburg (MuHaHar) come together to plan and organise the port festival, dividing the tasks in order to allow for a bigger and more impressive event. The event agency pb Konzept Hamburg is responsible for the logistical implementation on the large festival grounds. The maritime family event is supported and promoted by the Harburg District Assembly and by many sponsors and volunteers. The dedication and care of all involved are what make this festival so large and so special.

Visitors of all ages can expect plenty of fun and amusement around the local canals during the two-day festival. Port tours with historic ships, live music on two stages, sporting events, boat rides, fun & games for children, open ships, street performers, carousels, regattas, hands-on activities, culinary delights and much more. So come on board and enjoy the unique, maritime atmosphere.
