Trade Shows and Business Events

Hamburg is a well known major Northern European destinations for trade shows. The centre of consumer and trade shows in Hamburg is the Messehallen exhibition centre (managed by Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH), where the majority of such events in Hamburg are held.

Spanning almost 100,000 square metres across eleven exhibition halls, the Messehallen exhibition centre offers plenty of flexible space that can be sized and furnished to host a variety of trade shows, conferences and other events, such as shareholder meetings. Among the most notable fairs in recent years are the SMM (shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology), Internorga (foodservice and hospitality), Hanseboot (boat-building and yachting), Aircraft Interiors Expo and WindEnergy Hamburg.

The exhibition centre is located in the heart of the St. Pauli district and can be reached easily by underground line U2 (Messehallen station) as well as S-Bahn lines S11, S21 or S31 (Sternschanze station).

The Hamburg Convention Bureau, a direct subsidiary of Hamburg Marketing, is responsible for promoting Hamburg and its larger metropolitan region as premium event locations.

For smaller business conventions and events, the Airport Convention Centre offers a variety of differently-sized meeting rooms.
