South of the Elbe river you can find gorgeous waterways just begging to be explored by canoe or kayak.

Boating on the Dove Elbe

Boat Rentals in Hamburg’s South

There is an almost unlimited supply of waterways to explore in Hamburg’s Bergedorf district. Less urban that the city’s centre, you’ll truly be able to commune with nature. And don’t forget Wilhelmsburg: this quietly trending neighbourhood built on an island in the Elbe river has canals aplenty.

Note: Reservations are required at many (but not all) boat rentals, so be sure to plan ahead. Also, please note the rules stipulated by the various boat rental companies. It is always best to check up directly with the rental company before visiting.
