Piers and promenades with shops, cafes and restaurants are a common sight at Mecklenburg beach resorts. Relax and unwind on sandy beaches next to the Baltic Sea in stunning towns such as Boltenhagen, Kuehlungsborn and Warnemuende.
Some places even have a fishing village charm, such as the peninsula of Fischland-Darß-Zingst or the island of Hiddensee. Here, visitors can experience the area's artistic traditions, by admiring the highly decorative painted doors of fishermen's houses.
