Kön Student Housing
Student Housing, flatshares and apartment searching in Hamburg for students.
Among students in Germany, it’s very common to share a flat amongst several flatmates ('Mitbewohner'). In order to successfully move into a vacant room in a shared flat (’Wohngemeinschaft’ or 'WG'), it is likely you'll have to introduce yourself at a ’Mitbewohner-Casting'. It's important to know that people are usually looking for someone sociable and reliable, so it’s advisable to present yourself that way. Rental prices start at around 300 euros per month.

Another low-cost option are the student residences organised by the non-profit association StudierendenWerk Hamburg. There are 23 residences located in different areas of the city. With this type of accommodation, you'll have your own, furnished bedroom, while sharing a kitchen, living room and bathroom with 10 to 15 people on one floor.
Students or interns that will only stay in Hamburg for a couple of weeks or a semester have several options for accommodation. StudierendenWerk offers temporary leases for furnished rooms in student residences for which you can apply online. Another option is to look for sublet rooms: keep an eye out for terms like 'Zwischenmiete', 'Untermiete' and 'Wohnen auf Zeit' on housing websites like WG Gesucht or WG Suche.
