The escape game hype certainly hasn’t passed over Hamburg: the city boasts many providers with a wealth of rooms, themes and riddles. Depending on the topic and setting of the game, groups of 2 to 10 people dismantle fake bombs, go on treasure hunts, break out of prison or solve murder mysteries. Groups are required to work together towards a common goal: escape a room by solving a multitude of riddles. Escape games are ideal for families, groups of friends and work outings. All games below offer English-language options. Make sure, however, to request an English-speaking host in advance. As escape games are immensely popular, it’s advisable to book early via email, website or phone to avoid disappointment.
